The excursion includes a visit to Kiambethu Farm which is a family owned and run tea farm since 1901. The farm is located about 1hr drive from Nairobi in Limuru area and has a beautiful view of Ngong Hills and the formerly known 'white Islands'. Kiambethu Farm was the first farm to commercially grow and sell tea in Kenya.
At the farm, the local guide takes the guests through the history of the farm and the process of making tea. This is followed by a nature walk through the field to see the tea farm and the indigenous forest which is home for colombus monkeys, birds and a variety of wild flowers.
The tour to the farm is available from Thursday to Sunday every week.
